Jr Electrical Engineer

As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for performing electrical engineering designs for renovation projects in industrial environments. These designs will consist of development of construction drawings, performing calculations, and writing technical specifications and construction scopes of work. As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will be working under the guidance, leadership, and mentorship of more senior electrical engineering staff.

  • Perform electrical engineering design within engineering standards
  • Maintain electrical schedule and electrical personnel attendance
  • Perform various electrical tests for electrical and systems engineering
  • Complete assigned electrical engineering tasks
  • Approve electrical engineering construction packages
  • Prepare electrical drawings and specifications
  • Conduct electrical technical reviews and electrical development phase reviews
  • Update electrical drawings and standards
  • Build and other electrical systems
  • Develop electrical schematics and layout drawings
  • Perform standard electrical engineering calculations to size and design electrical systems based on projects requirements
  • Solve plant electrical/power system problems
  • Perform electrical engineering studies and calculations
  • Provide support for electrical engineering division
  • Read electrical schematics and circuit diagrams
  • Create cost estimates for proposed electrical control projects and electrical distribution projects
  • Improve the electrical architecture design process
  • Ensure electrical and special systems designs
  • Perform troubleshooting of electrical/electronic control systems
  • Maintaining plant electrical one-line drawings
  • Professional registration (Engineer In Training) a plus
  •  Strong computer skills - Microsoft applications
  •  Ability to learn Electrical Modeling software (SKM, EZPower, and/or ETAP), application software such as lighting and heat trace design, and AutoCAD. AutoCAD is not required but a plus
  • Must obtain a TWIC card
Education and Experience:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • 1-5 years experience in the industrial and petrochemical industry
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs at heights as would be necessary for a field survey in a heavy industrial environment
