Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and coordinate detailed design of projects in compliance with governing codes, regulatory requirements, and Client standards
- Understand and be able to coordinate project cost, estimating, scoping and scheduling development and administration
- Supervise and coordinate other engineers
- Solve problems by using a combination of standard procedures, modification of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments
- Complete independent studies, analyses, interpretations. and conclusions
- Give technical guidance and mentor engineers
- Able to work without supervision and review of work for technical accuracy
- Able to be given an opportunity and can then define the scope of work to accomplish
Requirements:
- Proficiency with computerized project management and reporting tools - required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience developing and approving pipe specifications.
- Experience in design, specification, application, and modification of rotating and fixed equipment, such as:
- Pressure vessels
- Heat exchangers
- Pumps
- Compressors
- Turbines
- Experience in:
- Equipment drawing review and approval
- P&ID development and review
- Material selection
- Piping layout
- Excellent working knowledge of ASME pressure vessel and piping codes, API standards, and other industry standards.
- Strong understanding of consultant engineering workflow and project execution
- Strong computer skills - Microsoft Applications (Word/Excel)
- Capable of some travel and remote site assignments
- Applicants must be able to obtain a TWIC card
Education and Experience:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university or equivalent
- 2-15 years engineering experience - preferably in the petrochemical industry
Must be able to pass a drug screen
