Junior to Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepare and coordinate detailed design of projects in compliance with governing codes, regulatory requirements, and Client standards
  • Understand and be able to coordinate project cost, estimating, scoping and scheduling development and administration
  • Supervise and coordinate other engineers
  • Solve problems by using a combination of standard procedures, modification of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments
  • Complete independent studies, analyses, interpretations. and conclusions
  • Give technical guidance and mentor engineers
  • Able to work without supervision and review of work for technical accuracy
  • Able to be given an opportunity and can then define the scope of work to accomplish
Requirements:
  • Proficiency with computerized project management and reporting tools - required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience developing and approving pipe specifications.
  • Experience in design, specification, application, and modification of rotating and fixed equipment, such as:
    • Pressure vessels
    • Heat exchangers
    • Pumps
    • Compressors
    • Turbines
  • Experience in:
    • Equipment drawing review and approval
    • P&ID development and review
    • Material selection
    • Piping layout
  • Excellent working knowledge of ASME pressure vessel and piping codes, API standards, and other industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of consultant engineering workflow and project execution
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Applications (Word/Excel)
  • Capable of some travel and remote site assignments
  • Applicants must be able to obtain a TWIC card
 
Education and Experience:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university or equivalent
  • 2-15 years engineering experience - preferably in the petrochemical industry 
 
Must be able to pass a drug screen
